These two pictures on the other hand — taken just a few minutes after the pictures above — make her look much older to me. Maybe you don’t see it, but to me she looks like a little girl now instead of like a baby. Where did my baby go?

Lillie wanted to draw on the windows.

Then she happily turned the markers on herself. Both Sophie and Lillie swear that Sophie had nothing to do with it.

Lillie still has a green tint to her face. Later, Poulo asked Lillie why she did it. She said, “I had a green marker and my daddy wasn’t around.”

I found Lillie in my bed one morning, just reading away as the rest of us were going about our day. (Note: She’s reading a book about myths and frauds in the field of archaeology.)

Every morning Lillie eats her breakfast and then Shad sits down to eat his and she moves on for a second breakfast. She sits in Shad’s lap for most meals.

Lillie got a new helmet for her birthday. Here she is trying it out.

 

Lillie’s childcare fell through one day this month so I just took the day off of work and played with her. We went to the library, had a picnic in the back of our CRV (it was raining), and made chicken noodle soup and apple pie. Here Lillie is trying out her new rolling pin. She loves to bake, but she’s never been able to get that big roller going. She rolled herself a nice tough pie crust.

Lillie went to the doctor yesterday. She is now 33.25 inches long (the 90th percentile) and 21 pounds (the 10th percentile). She is greatly surpassing her developmental marks and doing well.

I don’t get a lot of time when it is just me and Lillie so we made the most of it. It was wet at the park, but we still played in the swings and on the play structure. Then we headed home to build some towers out of duplos. Lillie is really physically able, she can run like crazy and spin herself around, she thinks ring-around-the-rosie is great fun, and she can even get the duplos to fit together most of the time. On the way to Portland this weekend, she announced that she had to go potty and we thought that it would be too late by the time we stopped, but when we got to Jason and Kristina’s house, she had held it and was ready to go. Again, on the way back to Eugene, she asked to go, we stopped, and she held it. We are very proud of her for potty training herself.
